Your feedback is very important to us and any concerns or recommendations are taken very seriously. We want to know when you think we should be performing better but we would also like to know when you think we have done something well.

Friends and Family Test

The Friends and Family Test is a way for all patients to give feedback quickly and have their say on the care and treatment they experience across the NHS in England. It helps to improve local healthcare services for everyone by highlighting what is working well and what can be improved. The FFT has been in use in some hospital services since 2013 and is now expanding to more parts of the NHS, including GP practices from December 2014.

Patient Group

All patients registered with the Abbey Medical Centre are welcome to join our patient participation group (PPG). We are always seeking new ways to improve the service we provide to our patients and are keen to hear your views. Over the last few years patient feedback has been key in helping us decide on changes that we have made and in shaping the future of the practice.
 
The Patient Group meets every three months throughout the year at the practice, mostly on a Wednesday afternoon.
 
We would like to extend an invitation to any patients who would like to come along to our meetings.  However we are particularly underrepresented in the following areas:-

  • Working patients
  • Patients with young children
  • Young people (teenagers)
  • Ethnic minorities

Practice Income

Under contractual arrangements, all GP practices in England have to publicly disclose their income:

The average pay for GPs working in Abbey Medical Centre in the last financial year was £65,427 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs, 4 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
