GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation

What is GDPR?

The GDPR is Europe’s new framework for data protection laws which apply as from 25th May 2018 – it replaces the previous 1995 data protection directive, which current UK law is based upon.

STI testing by post

If you do not have any symptoms but would like to be tested for sexually transmitted infection, the NHS now offers the opportunity to do this at home via a postal self testing kit. Please see the Sexual Health London website for details.

If you are having symptoms which you are concerned might be due to a sexually transmitted infection please make an appointment with a GP or practice nurse or attend a sexual health clinic:

  • there are a number of sexual health (GUM) clinics in central and north London offer testing and treatment of all sexually transmitted infections (STIs/STDs), including HIV tests. You do not need a referral from your GP.

The Abbey Medical Centre has been working with neighbouring GP practices to offer you evening, Saturday and Sunday appointments.

Practices in the Camden CCG area are working together to provide extended access to routine GP and nurse appointments in the evenings and on weekends. At present routine pre-booked GP and nurse appointments held at four different locations. Click for more information.

Do you want help losing weight?

It is now easy to get help to lose weight and you don't need a referral from your GP.

The Community Weight Management Service  is provided by Camden Sports & Physical Activity Service. They provide a 12 week group weight-loss programme of exercise and dietary advice for overweight or obese adults. It comprises nutritional advice, healthy eating guidance and support to get active.

If you are:

-over the age of 18
-if your Body Mass Index is more then 25 (calculate your BMI here)
-if you are registered at this surgery
